Vilwadi Gulika is a formula of 16 ayurvedic ingredients designed to treat poisonous infections, insect, and rodent bites. It is also used to treat conditions like gastroenteritis, dyspepsia, and fever. It is also called Vilwadi Agada which means poison remover made by Bilva(Bael). This medicine helps balance Kapha and Vata dosas. It is one of the best ayurvedic medicines for treating snake bites. Vilwadi is an ayurvedic formulation from a mixture of popular household spices that help in treating infectious diseases. Roots and Bark of Vilwa or Bilva tree are the main components. Tulsi, Ginger, Pongamia, Turmeric, Triphala, Dharuhaldi, and Pepper are the other detoxifiers used in this medicine. This combination makes it a powerful Vata and Kapha balancer. It is best to treat skin reactions due to infectious bites. It is also very effective in food poisoning and other stomach disorders, dyspepsia, cholera and diseases related to intestinal worm infections.

 HOW TO USE vilwadi gulika

Vilwadi Gulika can be used for oral intake and for external application. In case of insect or snake bites, both internal and external application is recommended at the same time for best results. Oral Intake: Powder the Vilwadi Gulika tablet and mix it with the honey. Give it to the patient who has a snake bite at a dose of 1000 mg (equivalent to 2 tablets). Repeat in severe cases every 10 to 15 minutes, and then every 30 minutes until the patient recovers from poisonous symptoms. Then, give it in a dosage of 2 tablets three times a day for a week. Follow a similar procedure for poisonous insect bites. Topical Application: After making an incision in the infected area, squeeze the cut hard so that the impurities in the blood flow out. After that, clean the wound with hot water. After cleaning, place the Vilwadi Gulika powder in a mortar and mix it in hot water to make a paste. Apply this Vilwadi paste to the wound and leave it for an hour at least. INDICATIONS

DOSAGE For causes other than poisonous bites it is normally recommended to have one or two tablets of Vilwadi Gulika with Honey or hot water. However, it highly recommended consulting your ayurvedic physician to get your personalized dosage of this medicine. Apart from oral intake, the medicine can also be applied topically to treat various disorders by powdering it and making a paste with either water or honey. Nasal inhalation should be done only under medical supervision. SIDE EFFECTS There are no reported long term side effects for this medicine in the western sense. However, an overdose can cause burning sensations in the stomach. PRECAUTIONS Vilwadi Gulika does not react with homeopathic medicines and can be had alongside homeopathic medicines. It might react with some allopathic medicines and hence it is advised to consume Vilwadi Gulika at least a 30 minutes gap after having allopathic medicine. Before you apply topically ensure you clean the area thoroughly and squeeze out all impure blood from the area. In topical application, the paste is applied to the infected area and washed off after 30 minutes. The maximum extent to which this medicine can be used at a stretch is two to four months under medical supervision. INGREDIENTS The ingredients which make up Vilwadi Gulika are
